He writes songs that are warm, humane and down to earth - and also leavened with a little gentle humour. I hope it's only a matter of time before his songs get picked up by more commercial acts. Keep an ear out for Shipcote & Friends, anyway - definitely something of a hidden treasure.

NewsBlog StuffJune - We'll be playing some new songs in our set - towards an album in autumn.Our monthly teatime date in schooner in July is Fri 5th now & not Sat 6th. May - We playied the Ireby Festival this month in a Village Hall (see pic ). Cath came up from Kendal on her bike...whoo'p ..and played so hot, her fiddle flew out her hands....honestly !!!
March - After a mini break Shipcote's back from Austin & there's plenty of shows coming up Feb - There are a few more- new Summer Festivals up on gigs page ( & couple new pub gigs ) . phewww - hurray for that !!! Jan'13 - Were playing an acoustic jam in the Schooner Inn, Gateshead every month - ( its behind International stadium) . Its free & a great new / old pub , so come visit
Dec- The Sunday Sun gave us "Song Of The Year" in today's issue ( 23rd Dec) in their pick of the year column. The song they chose was " Old Is Cool ' from the new album
Oct - We have some live footage from our trip up to Scotland @ The Steeple Hall in Renfrewshire. The venue agents Brookfield knight proclaimed ""Thanks for a great gig in Kilbarchan last night - many of our regulars are rightly saying it was one of the best ever !".... they get all the american oversea artists there too......Thank You Sir ! April - Funny old month is April , were playing a Northumberland country pub, a wedding, our usual Schooner gig but on a Friday teatime & now a beer Fest too....oh well somebody has to do it :-)))))
