“I could have listened to you all night” , said Ben Singh who we supported last night @ Cakes & Ale cafe/bookshop in Carlisle ( Oct 20th 21). It was like listening to Tom Waits mixed with Bob Wills..said Craig , Ben’s percussionist. What lovely quotes from a lovely night of music. We always love it when our fifth Shipcote member John Hardy turns up & this quirky cafe in the middle of the city, witnessed John & Maree at the nearside table, within touching distance of my guitar & Cath’s fiddle. John’s been to the cafe before as have the duo , but once we started the night off , the applause was so bloody overwhelming …. as we normal play to one dog, let alone a man. Of course its really great to be appreciated & we very much appreciated headliner – Ben Singh & his Kontiki Suite buddies too. They were just great. Thanks to Stephen too for booking us & being good on the mixing desk ( & not touching the faders ). It sure makes a difference.
